The Boeing Commercial Airplanes 737 P8 Final Assembly is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Lean Practitioner (Experienced or Senior) to support continuous improvement activities, to enhance safety and quality in Renton, Washington on 2nd shift.

The successful candidate will help stabilize second shift, run workshops, coach leaders and team members on lean tools & processes. The Lean Practitioner will work directly with first line leader and senior managers on developing lean planning and strategy.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Leading and coaching day-to-day implementation of Boeing Production System (BPS) standard concepts predominantly in manufacturing areas
  • Coaching, leading and partnering with manufacturing, functional support, and management on 8-step systematic problem-solving activities
  • Facilitating or coaching continuous improvement workshops such as Accelerated Improvement Workshops, Value Stream Mapping, Table Top, Moonshine, Kamishibai, Point of Use, Leader Standard Work, and Tier Boards
  • Supporting more advanced and complex process improvements
  • Instructing others in continuous improvement tools and principles using standardized lesson materials. Assists in formatting updated training materials.
  • Supporting, coaching and partnering with the manufacturing team at Senior Manager level to implement, grow, and sustain the Daily Management structure and cadence
  • Participating in strategy development
  • Removing roadblocks for teams, while mentoring them to do the same for themselves - teach, inspire, and empower
  • Assisting less advanced practitioners in the proper usage of Lean tools
  • Participating in or leading maturity evaluation and assessment activities.
  • Reflecting on organizational processes and BPS standards to systematically problem-solve and continuously improve
  • Work will primarily occur on 2nd shift, while occasionally also supporting 1st and 3rd shifts
  • Maintaining individual development plan
  • Support the Senior Manager in developing a lean plan

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace.
  • 3+ years of experience planning and facilitating Lean workshops (e.g., BPSM /AIW / 3P / Kaizen / VSM, Process Mapping, AIW, DK).
  • 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams. 
  • Able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
  • 6+ years of experience applying Boeing Production System (BPS) and/or Toyota Production System (TPS) concepts.
  • Experience coaching team members and leaders in an operations environment.
  • Competency in designing/building prototypes, influencing others, Lean knowledge, process management skills, and project leadership.
  • Ability to occasionally work varied shifts when needed.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic MS Office suite.
  • Project Management certification.

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3):

Bachelors and typically 6 or more years related work experience, a Masters degree and typically 4 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Senior (Level 4):

Bachelors degree and typically 10 or more years of related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range (Experienced): $89,250 - $120,750

Summary pay range for (Senior): $107,100 - $144,900
