JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the effective organization and production of assigned areas or team cells. Responsible for performance and improvements to budgets, schedule, and quality. To accomplish this, the Manager serves as the organization?s contact between teams and upper management.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Science, Mechanical, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering or related field.*
  2. 5 years aircraft manufacturing experience in a leadership role or an equivalent management/technical background.
  3. Knowledge and familiarity with aircraft drawings, specifications, and other technical data necessary for aircraft parts completion.
  4. Must communicate well and work effectively with shop personnel, various levels of management, and other departments.

* 2 years of work experience is equivalent to 1 year of college.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Computer literacy sufficient to direct software applications in a production environment.
  2. Must possess good working knowledge of the skills required in shops under his/her leadership.
  3. Strong leadership and planning abilities.

Ability and willingness to analyze and resolve work problems

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Requires walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Involves exposure to chemicals and dust levels set by OSHA standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

(Identify functions affecting the airworthiness of the aircraft by using the prefix “CRITICAL”)

  1. Provide upper management with accurate information regarding aircraft status, budgets, and other operational information.
  2. Responsible for the development of team leaders and other staff as well as other management duties, such as employee evaluations and adherence to personnel policies.
  3. Ensure teams complete aircraft operations within budget and on schedule.
  4. Ensure areas or teams conform to existing company policies and departmental procedures.
  5. Ensure good team relationships by maintaining open communications.
  6. Ensure that work areas are kept orderly, professional, and safe according to DFJC standards and OSHA requirements.
  7. Manage the aircraft and expense budgets to meet or improve upon the company established budgets.
  8. Responsible for monitoring data input and reports to be properly done and maintained.
  9. Ensure that aircraft parts are built per the requirements described in Planning, Engineering, and Quality documents and to FAA and company quality standards.
  10. Coordinate effectively with other departments to ensure that needed support is provided on schedule.
  11. Develop, plan, and implement new strategies to improve the current product or process.

Perform traditional managerial duties such as hiring, terminating, approving leave and conducting disciplinary actions for subordinates.
