What Youll Get to Do

The Maintenance Quality Manager will be responsible to ensure the Maintenance department complies with airworthiness requirements.  They will also be responsible for various traditional Aviation Maintenance quality position duties. This position will build strong, operational cohesiveness within the Maintenance bases and departments.

Operations:

  • Ensure Maintenance department complies with airworthiness requirements
  • Ensure all Maintenance publications are reviewed and actioned as required
  • Assist with all major modifications and repairs and ensure documentation post mod or repair is filed as required
  • Upkeep of dent and buckle logs
  • Chair and document maintenance regulatory review process
  • Ensuring all procedures for recording and submitting Service Difficulty Reports is carried out in accordance with CAR 521, Division IX
  • Responsible for the review and acceptance of the initial issue of Instructions for continued Airworthiness, Airworthiness Directives, and Service Bulletins and the subsequent revisions to these documents
  • Ensure aircraft empty weight and balance reports/amendments are carried out correctly and filed as required
  • Ensure all STC documentation is catalogued and up to date and a review is completed every 6 months
  • Completing follow up of heavy check paperwork including CPCP findings 
  • Review all technical publication revisions and ensure revisions are incorporated into
  • Calm Air maintenance tracking system or maintenance system as required
  • Carry out quality control checks at all bases to ensure company standards are consistently met
  • Assist in ongoing company projects as required
  • Carrying out Quality Assurance functions as directed by the VP of Quality & Safety
  • Assisting with and supporting all policies and procedures regarding the Calm Air SMS Program, as outlined in the company Safety Management Manual, CAV-1001
  • Adhere to and promote safe working practices within the department
  • Other duties as assigned

Safety and Leadership:

  • Change management leader – execute change while supporting employees through communication listening and actioning
  • Lead and develop all purchasing/stores employees
  • Ensure any incidents are reported through the safety management system
  • Actively support the safety management system by following SMS processes and encouraging a safety reporting culture in your department
  • Promote occupational health and safety within your department, and participate in the development and monitoring of safety training
  • Proactively communicate hazards and SMS initiatives with your department
  • Embark on employment equity initiatives; engaging with all employees to promote employment equity and encouraging employees to undertake the self-declaration survey updating as necessary
  • All levels of the organization share responsibility for human rights within the organization
  • Overseeing and promoting continuous improvement on human rights and employment equity initiatives

MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS AND LEADS – have been delegated the authority and are responsible to the Department Head to actively identify hazards and deficiencies and report through the SMS (Safety Management System) Program reporting system.  Communicate with all personnel within their respective department and other departments as required to maintain effective day to day activities.  Ensure regulatory and company standards are maintained. Assist in the development and maintenance of company processes and procedures. (Quality Assurance activities)

Carry out their duties safely within regulatory and company standards, policies, processes, and procedures as trained.  Use safety equipment (tools, Proper Protective Equipment etc.) as provided.  Actively identify and report hazards and deficiencies (when in doubt report).  Assist in development of company processes and procedures as required.

Skills & Experience We Value 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must possess a valid AME license
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Win Air is an asset and must be computer literate
  • Good interpersonal and practical communication skills required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain valid security clearances
  • Travel required
  • Inuktitut language considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
