SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor leads maintenance teams responsible for repair of electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); carpentry; painting; and other building systems. The Maintenance Team Leader supports the Plant Manager in maintaining the facility property in compliance with all State and Federal regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees work of assigned maintenance team employees.
  • Addresses discipline problems with team members.
  • Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Works with Plant Manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments.
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members’ skills and experience.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the preventative maintenance program as directed by Plant Manager.
  • Follow OSHA and PCC Company safety standards.
  • Manage on-site tool inventory system and maintain tools in proper working order.
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
  • Inspects work performed by team members.
  • Tracks and logs workers’ time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
  • Works with EHS Manager to coordinate topics for safety meetings.
  • Maintains facility shop and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
  • Confer with Plant Manager for projects requiring services of outside contractors.
  • Be available to handle after-hours emergency problems as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
  • May use fixed gauges or direct reading instruments where interpretation is not required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least five years of maintenance experience required.
  • Six to ten years of Industrial Maintenance experience preferred.
  • CNC Machining experience.
  • Experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System preferred.
