Collins Aerospace is seeking Manager, Quality to lead Quality operations at our Bangalore site at Devanahalli, the role owns the strategic and tactical planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Avionics quality operations, You will lead a high-performing team of Quality Engineer, ensuring product integrity, driving compliance to AS9100 standards, and enabling operational excellence across the site.


Job Description:

Quality Leadership and Strategy

  • Develop, implement, and manage quality plans, policies, standards, and processes to achieve site, business and program quality targets.
  • Set the strategic direction and alignment with site and enterprises-wide quality initiatives
  • Lead organization-wide projects and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen quality system and reduce COPQ.

People Leadership

  • Direct and mentor team of Quality Engineers setting clear expectations and guiding performance management, development, engagement and succession planning.
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross functional collaboration

Quality Execution and Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, zero defect (ZDP), ACE, and/or Continuous improvement methodologies to optimize quality performance, reduce escapes, and strengthen process capability.
  • Oversee Production process analysis, root cause investigations, corrective/ preventive actions (CAPA), and implementation of sustainable improvements. Investigates all processes in manufacturing, test, repair and inspection which created non-conformances in the quality of the end product and makes recommendations for elimination of the cause.
  • Lead efforts to collect, analyze, and leverage quality data from multiple operational and process sources to inform long term strategy.
  • Influence product design for manufacturability, process specifications, input to equipment/tool design and selection; participate in Lean manufacturing planning and training.
  • Participate in standards development and maintenance, and projects related to analysis of production flows.
  • Review and approve changes to engineering documents/specifications assuring continued compliance with customer requirements.
  • Perform investigations and actions to resolve field problems and track customer complaints and problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required

QMS Ownership and Compliance

  • Maintain and improve the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100, ensuring readiness for audits, assessments, and regulatory reviews
  • Oversee the development and sustainment of program quality plans, inspection procedures, and operational quality controls
  • Lead teams interpreting policies, industry standards, customer requirements, and government regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner closely with Program management, operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functional stakeholders to proactively address quality risks and support program execution.
  • Interface with customers as needed to support audits, resolve quality concerns, and champion improvement initiatives.

Documentation and reporting

  • Ensure preparation, accuracy, and maintenance of all Quality documentation, metrics, and governance required for internal and external compliance
  • Monitor and manage performance metrics that impact quality throughout the Avionics operations

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • At least 12+ years’ experience in a electrical assemblies / Manufacturing environment with at least 8 years leading a team of Quality
