Our Technical Operations team comprises aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help ensure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

The Manager – Strategic Planning leads decision modeling, analytics, reporting, and data management related to aircraft maintenance. The manager leads projects that optimize aircraft maintenance visits to accommodate special modification projects and maintenance checks.

  • Leads weekly and other periodic reviews of Airframe activity, including detailed investigation of past and future data to assess fleet, program, labor, and facility trends and efforts to improve event opportunity and asset management
  • Performs strategy formulation, development, implementation, and evaluation of aircraft upkeep plans to optimize cost and aircraft safety
  • Provides detailed analysis of check visit performance to plan
  • Communicates and reviews performance with Production and Support areas to support continuous improvement
  • Coordinates allocations vital to support maintenance check activity with senior leadership
  • Communicates and coordinates Airframe Heavy Check plans and requirements with internal and external facilities to ensure planning and preparation to support event check requirements
  • Meets regularly with production leadership and associated support departments to ensure alignment of activities with Airframe Check plans and requirements

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • BA/BS Degree
  • Two years of experience in leading and handling strategy, planning, forecasting, continuous improvement or maintenance/aircraft scheduling function or related field
  • Experience in using data analysis and quantitative modeling techniques (e.g., statistical, optimization, simulation, spreadsheet)
  • Adept at leading several projects and initiatives simultaneously through appropriate prioritization
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to optimally interact at all levels (including executive)
  • Able to partner with United Airlines business partners
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in airline planning and analysis role
  • Project Management or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certification
