Position Summary
The Manager is responsible for executing all line maintenance scheduling activities. The Manager has the responsibilities for oversight of the forecasting, the planning, and the implementation of scheduled maintenance events (including special attention focused on cabin appearance) for the Technical Operations Department. The Manager must ensure the optimum performance of the Maintenance Planners in their duties to maintain fleet safety and reliability. They must also considering the optimal economic cost benefit to JetBlue, as well as ensuring their internal/external customer satisfaction. FAA regulatory compliance is essential, ensuring no overfly activities of any maintenance tasks. Other considerations include coordination between Technical Operations, System Operations, Marketing, and other customers.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring all required maintenance items that are scheduled and issued within time limit intervals specified by the Continued Airworthy Maintenance Program (CAMP) and approved by the FAA
Supervises the Planners in preparing all scheduled line maintenance tasks such as, Service checks, Weekly, Segment checks, MDDRs (MELs, CDLs, TSIs, GMM items) and all near term (120 day) forecast of items coming due
Supervises team and work with other Planners and Scheduler to route, re-route and swap aircraft to accomplish team goals of meeting the maintenance constraints (manpower, ground time, etc.)
Monitors the “Maintenance and Engineering” (M&E) system for correct accomplishments of initial, final and repetitive tasks, including all Airworthiness Directive’s and Engineering Orders/Authorizations
Coordinates with Planners, Materials, Maintenance and Maintenance Control on all manpower, parts, and tooling required
Coordinates and communicates critical issues with respective internal/external customers
Prioritizes, schedules, and incorporates cabin condition tasks into daily workload (cabins cleans, seat inspections and deferrals)
Tracks and reports compliance and condition of cabin tasks
Prioritizes and releases daily workload. Adjusts and communicates for schedule changes, deferred work, and systems interruptions (Irregular Operations (IROPS)).
Monitors and sets sufficient ground time with Operations for aircraft maintenance.
Executes business strategy to accomplish Tech Ops goals, objectives and key metrics
Initiates process measurements and improvements, include process mapping to improve efficiency and flexibility of organizations
Reviews, recommends and implements technology and processes improvements
Directs and assists with the accountability of all issued work packages (i.e. research and resolve paperwork discrepancies)
Drives results, setting the technical and safety standards while providing strong leadership and technical support to a group of experienced maintenance professionals
Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, goal achievement
Assists in defining the standards to which JetBlue’s maintains their fleet

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
Five (5) years airline Maintenance, Planning or Material experience
Three (3) years management experience
Working Knowledge of Part 121 Federal Aviation Regulations
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Airworthy Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB)
Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
Available for occasional overnight travel (up to 10)
Valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of Data Management Systems

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Master’s Degree or advanced degree in Aviation, Business Processes or Technical-related field
Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Proficient in TRAX and Sabre/FliteTrac Plot
Lean/Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement training

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation
The base pay range for this position is between $90,000.00 and $150,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
