PURPOSE: The Manager on Duty, OCC is responsible for managing the Operations Control Center to ensure operations are conducted in a safe, coordinated, and cohesive fashion while ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations and company standards. This position is the primary operational decision maker for the current operations date and as such will coordinate the actions of all Avelo Airlines’ OCC crew members to achieve established performance goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage daily operations, disruption recovery, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide the tactical operational oversight necessary to achieve company determined safety, on time performance, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Examine and recommend changes to improve the quality and efficiency of the operation. Creates, communicates and executes operational plans aimed at preventing disruptions.
- Monitor the short-term schedule to verify that the aircraft are routed in an efficient and effective manner.
- Develop and implement alternate plans of action during abnormal operations and delay situations.
- Maintaining knowledge of crewmember status for current and future flight operations.
- Support Dispatch activities when circumstances dictate. (e.g., workload balance, irregular operations, emergency situations, technical issues, etc.)
- Communicate operational irregularities, including recovery plan for abnormal operations, to appropriate departments
- Monitor daily performance. Facilitate briefings and communication for leadership and all operational groups, advising of significant problems/issues jeopardizing operational efficiency. Acts as liaison to leadership regarding day-to-day operations.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum four (4) years 14 CFR 121 airline operations control center/system operations experience
- Proven leadership capabilities, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must be able to work a rotating schedule with variable hours including nighttime or overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
X-FACTORS:
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
- Prefer a minimum of one (1) year previous OCC Duty Manager or Shift Supervisor experience
- Bachelors Degree
- Comfortable with making key decisions.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
