Space Systems has an opening for a Manager Production Planning Scheduling (Level 1/2) to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Carson, California.
This position combines functional oversight with programmatic leadership to support critical operations within the space systems and aerospace industry. The successful candidate will lead staffing, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination efforts while championing performance, quality, and cost objectives. This role demands a dynamic leader with expertise in logistics, team development, and production management who can optimize workflows and drive organizational success.
Additionally, this position requires hands-on involvement in warehouse operations, transportation management, and fleet services, ensuring effective resource allocation and adherence to operational best practices. The candidate will also play a key role in process improvements, mentoring staff, and supporting strategic organizational initiatives, all within the context of high-stakes aerospace and defense environments.
Responsibilities:
Warehousing Protocols:
Inventory Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, including knowledge of best practices for storage optimization, and inventory audits
Warehouse operations: Practical experience in overseeing daily warehouse activities such as receiving, storage, order picking, packing, shipping, and returns. Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety compliance in warehousing environments.
Material Handling Equipment: Knowledge of operating and maintaining forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling tools in compliance with safety protocols.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications (Level 1):
A Bachelors degree plus 4 years relevant experience, OR a Masters degree plus 2 years relevant experience, OR a High School Diploma/GED plus 8 years of extensive hands-on experience within logistics, hardware management, or closely related fields such as production planning, scheduling or operational environments.
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams or overseeing cross-functional projects, with demonstrated success in improving performance, achieving key milestones, and maintaining compliance with organizational and industry standards.
Professional experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry with its unique challenges, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI access.

Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI access.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business administration or other relevant disciplines that support the role’s focus on logistics and hardware management.
Direct Hands-on experience in Integration & Test, defense, aerospace, or high-reliability product development industries.
Proficiency in project schedule baselining and scope definition and effective resource allocation to meet complex development timelines.
Familiarity with tools such as AssetSmart, SAP, LOOIE, MS Access, and MS Project, and MS Excel
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to oversee complex workflows
Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with a track record of success in training and mentoring personnel to adopt industry best practices, meet high-performance benchspans, and achieve organizational goal.
This position offers an opportunity to engage in critical space system initiatives, providing leadership and expertise that directly impact program success.
Primary Level Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $121,100.00 - $181,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
