Job SummaryThe role is responsible for ensuring that our Computerized Maintenance Management System can produce the information required by Technology to meet its legal statutory and regulatory requirements as well as ISO 9002 / 14001 registration.
In addition, the role oversees the management of technical drawings within the NCDOCs application and is responsible for the team of specialists who administer the drawings.

In this role you will:

  • Developing short- and long-term strategic plans, policies, and procedures for Senior Management in MAXIMO and NCDOCs utilization and data requirements to ensure systems output meet Legal, Statutory and Regulatory requirements as well as ISO 9002 / 14001 registration. 
  • Overseeing appropriate use of MAXIMO and NCDOCS, conducting trend analysis in system usage to ensure compliance to procedures and ensuring data integrity.
  • Developing, managing, and publishing workflows, work processes and procedures for MAXIMO and NCDOCs users
  • Overseeing MAXIMO and NCDOCs user requirements by managing (through EBS) system upgrades, developing user requirements / specifications, functional testing, and user acceptance testing to improve system efficiency.
  • Generating performance metrics and performance indicators on core stakeholder business processes required to support ISO registration for Senior Management
  • Developing and implementing changes to policies and procedures related to MAXIMO/NCDOCS and representing stakeholders for the development / improvement of other databases such as Business Intelligence Solutions, NESA/JAZZ and AOR databases.
  • Developing task requirements, timetables, and budgets for system upgrades
  • Managing a segment of the director’s budget, developing budgetary plans and projects based on operational requirements and priorities.
  • Creating maintenance reports using MAXIMO for invoicing external clients for work done by Technical Services under contract
  • Establishing and adjusting priorities in responding to numerous requests for data, users support and any other work requirements.
  • Fully accountable for hiring staff, allocating priorities, assessing performance, authorizing leave, scheduling overtime, providing guidance and coaching and taking disciplinary action when required.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and prompt resolution of issues
  • Actively participating in the planning of short- and long-term plans for the Technology Services Department
  • Planning human and financial resources requirements to meet current and future requirement.
  • Establishing contingency plans to meet emergency situations, including bargaining agent actions to ensure contractual obligations are met in the event of work stoppage.

What you bring:

  • Secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable program in electronics technology normally acquired through completion of 2 to 3 years of post secondary study in this subject, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years related experience in the industry.
  • Experience managing budgeting and purchasing activities for technology procurement.
  • Knowledge and background of ANS technology systems, T-BMS policies, standards, procedures, and techniques.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in the industry
  • Knowledge of Technical Services work requirements and systems gained through experience at the senior technologist level
  • Knowledge of MAXIMO and NCDOCS software capabilities / limitations and of other databases currently in use such as Workday, Service Now, NESA / JAZZ and NCSIS
  • Knowledge of Databases and report generation from Databases
  • A broad knowledge is required of electronic systems including diverse Communication, Navigational Aids, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management systems
  • Knowledge of administrative and management policies and practice
  • Knowledge of information, human and financial management practices
  • Knowledge of NAV CANADA Organization
  • Knowledge of EBS and PDG practices and procedures
