• You will lead a team of analysts who specialize in process improvement
• The role works closely with airport leadership and the Skyview teams on providing inputs for airport standards
• This job is a member of the Airport Operations & Continuous Improvement team within the Airport Solutions group

• Lead a team of analysts who specialize in process improvement to increase operational reliability in the airports
• Oversees concurrent, diverse, and time-sensitive projects from inception to completion in various areas, including, but not limited to, airport lobbies, bag rooms, gates, lounges and FIS
• Works collaboratively with cross-functional groups to create comprehensive strategies and solutions
• Works closely with all levels of airport personnel to explain models, provide support, evaluate changes, and achieve buy in to processes and practices
• Collaborates across many work groups to ensure all changes are sustainable
• Builds and recommends strategies to optimize staffing, layout, ground time, and misconnect efficiencies
• Finds and highlights opportunities for improvement in existing processes and procedures
• Understanding of lean six sigma methodology and drives continuous improvement thinking at American Airlines
• Ability to travel up to 40 of the time

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• ​Bachelor’s Degree / Masters Degree in industrial engineering or equivalent experience/training
• 5+ years work experience, preferably in industrial engineering, operations, or related airline field
• 2 years of experience formally or informally leading process improvement teams
• Experience working with and presenting to senior leadership

• ​Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
• Ability to lead teams and influence decisions
• Experience developing future leaders

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Effective leadership skills with the ability to communicate expectations, motivate team members, provide feedback, delegate tasks, and promote career growth
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving
• Ability to work effectively, meet deadlines, and shift priorities appropriately in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization
