Chief Pilot, Flight Safety & Operations Compliance

Responsible for planning, developing, and managing the Flight Operations Quality Assurance Program in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role ensures Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) maintains continuous approval for operations to all planned destinations by aligning with industry best practices and standards.

• Foster effective coordination with regulatory bodies such as CAAM and internal divisions across MAG to ensure timely renewal of MAB’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
• Ensure continuous compliance with rules and regulations set by CAAM and other international aviation authorities, enabling uninterrupted global operations.
• Coordinate audit readiness for scheduled and ad-hoc programs, including:
• CAAM Annual Audits
• IOSA (every 2 years with 6-month preparation)
• SAFA (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft) Audits
• Code-share and international station audits
• Analyze compliance data to generate predictive insights for identifying safety risks. Share findings with the Director of Flight Operations and Chief Pilot of Flight Safety & Operations Compliance.
• Act as the primary liaison for Flight Operations with MAB Corporate Safety Oversight and Group Safety & Security on all compliance-related matters.

• Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field
• Professional Certification (Preferred):
  • Internal Audit
  • Business Administration
• Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years in Quality Assurance (preferably within aviation)
  • Minimum 7 years in aviation operations or related field

1. Strong knowledge of Quality and Safety Management Systems (QMS & SMS)
2. Operational/technical understanding of flight operations and/or aircraft maintenance
3. Solid grasp of:
1. Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR 2016)
2. Civil Aviation Act 1969
3. Civil Aviation Directives (CAD)
4. Civil Aviation Guidance Materials (CAGM)
5. ICAO Annexes (1–19), related ICAO Docs
6. EASA Requirements
7. IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
5. Strong communication (written and interpersonal) and report writing skills
