As a Managing Director, you are a member of the Board of Directors and report operationally to the VP of Emerging Markets, dnata Catering & Retail, with overall responsibility for Alpha Flight Czech Republic. This includes organisational performance, manpower planning and deployment, performance management, profitability, and the continuous improvement of cost efficiency, productivity, and customer service. You have direct line-management responsibility for the senior leadership team and provide clear guidance, leadership, and direction to all employees, informed by industry insights and catering spanet trends. You ensure full compliance with Head Office policies and applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver business strategies, establish accountability, resolve challenges, and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace that enables employees to perform at their full potential.
This role is based in our Prague office.
In this role, you will
- Develop and deliver short- and long-term business strategy in partnership with the management team and Catering HQ, aligned with Alpha Flight Czech Republic and dnata group objectives.
- Translate strategy into operational plans and annual budgets covering manpower, change management, P&L performance, and key initiatives.
- Lead and oversee execution of operational and strategic initiatives to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and service excellence.
- Identify organisational, system, and process gaps and implement effective solutions, including local rollout of IT systems with Group support.
- Monitor business performance, manage risks, and review the effectiveness of initiatives against company goals and spanet best practice.
- Analyse customer and spanet insights to enhance value, products, and services.
- Foster a high-performance and safety-driven culture, ensuring compliance with food safety, workplace safety, security, and corporate governance standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, authorities, unions, and group stakeholders; act as a key ambassador for the business.
- Develop leadership capability through mentoring, clear communication, and credible engagement with employees and the Board.
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements
- Bachelors degree and 8+ years’ experience in flight catering or premium hospitality industry of which at least 5 years should have been in a senior management position.
- Good communication skills allowing professional communication in English and Czech.
