The Factory Director manages the Wayne, NJ manufacturing facility and reports to the C4ISRS Business Area Operations Director. This role will serve as the factory lead dedicated to manufacturing of products that meet or exceed performance for quality, delivery, and cost while driving a continuous improvement culture. The candidate will manage operations-related plans, budgets, policies, and procedures while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance relating to the manufacturing facility.
  • Drives Factory Standardization by leveraging common manufacturing processes.
  • Shape Team Culture and workforce integrity in the factory.
  • Accountability for performance metrics to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost.
  • Responsible for Utilization, site expenses and headcount staffing plans.
  • Develops the team with the skills and capabilities to meet the factory demands through staff development, mentoring, & personal growth opportunities.
  • Manages Factory Capacity modeling & equipment support.
  • Identifies Capital Investment needs & maintains factory infrastructure.
  • Factory ownership responsible to ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Ensures product meets requirements for Transition to Production
  • Operations leadership experience in high volume high / mix manufacturing (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, New Product Introduction).
  • Background in New Product Introduction (NPI) to full rate production, manufacturing process, and manufacturing readiness including all APQP milestones.
  • Demonstrates proven experience leading teams in manufacturing of complex electro/mechanical hardware, high mix RF manufacturing and related test equipment.
  • Leads the Operations function to reduce “Unit Production Costs” through influencing product design and material selection.
  • Supports the business in managing the Operations capital strategy and resulting budget in support of the Product Line.
  • Manages functional expense budgets and manufacturing rates.
  • Implements lean and continuous improvement activities in the business.
  • Establishes a work environment of openness and trust where employees are challenged, developed, and work together as a team to achieve business objectives.


Job Requirements:
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Engineering Degree and 12+ Years experience within Operations.
  • Proven record of on time, on budget, high quality product production.
  • Able to effectively work and collaborate across company’s technical and non-technical functional disciplines (Program Office, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Communications, Human Resources).
  • Identify and drive manufacturing technologies that supports the vision for factory workplace of the future.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience with AS9145/APQP is preferred, but also not required.
  • Proven leader with strong written, listening and verbal communication skills - Able to multitask effectively with agility.
  • Continuous Improvement philosophy and practice Lean Six Sigma.
  • Creative and Innovative problem solver.
  • Able to obtain an Active Secret clearance.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
