The Manager Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) leads four FP&A Business Partners that support four technology portfolios: Commercial, Customer, Cybersecurity, and Technology Common Platforms and Cloud. In addition, this role collaborates with teams in Technology, Supply Chain, the Vendor Management Office, Workforce Planning, and the Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver strategic projects and initiatives through financial planning and analysis, governance support, SOW approvals, etc. The Manager FP&A is a strong communicator with a continuous improvement mindset ready to contribute to the financial well-being of Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work at a Company facility at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and contribute to the partnerships within the business to identify risks and drive revenue production and/or cost reduction actions to meet plan targets

  • Oversee and contribute to comprehensive financial, analytical, and decision support at the Team, Department, and/or Sr Leader level

  • Oversee and contribute to financial, variance, and trending analysis for key cost drivers and metrics

  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation and consolidation of financial projections/results and corresponding communication for departments

  • Identify and execute opportunities that improve agility, efficiency, accuracy, and capabilities of FP&A processes and deliverables proactively

  • Advise on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&39;s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits

  • Knowledge of financial planning, analysis, data modeling, principles, planning and budgeting

  • Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organizations strategic plan

  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software

  • Skilled in motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job

  • Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)

  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:

    • Financial planning and analysis, thought leadership, and building strong relationships

    • Demonstrated track history of communicating effectively using a variety of styles and techniques based on the intended audience

    • Translating complex financial information into actionable insights through simple storytelling

    • Leading or collaborating with teams to anticipate issues and address challenging situations; drives efficiency to enhance performance

    • Leading problem solving efforts through delegation, collaboration, and teamwork

  • Preferred: Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and any financial planning and forecasting tools such as Oracle Hyperion, Anaplan, etc.

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $130,750 - $145,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
