The Mobility LPM (Logistics Program Management) Director leads a team of over 60 highly capable professionals to provide sustainment of mobility engines for all operators around the world, as well as serving as the deputy for the Mobility Programs Director.  P&W provides significant support services on mobility programs for our customers, including depot level maintenance, material management, spares provisioning, part repairs, and technical support of the product including field service representatives (FSRs), under contract with the USAF.  Mobility Programs in P&W Military Engines includes the F117 and F139 engine programs.   

The F117 engine, a derivative of the commercial PW2000, is the sole engine for the C-17 Globemaster—the backbone of the US and 8 international operators’ airlift capability.  With nearly 1300 engines in use around the world, supporting both military and humanitarian missions, the F117 engine plays a critical role somewhere in the world every day.   

The F139 engine, a member of the commercial PW4000 engine family, is the sole engine for the KC-46 Pegasus tanker, the USAF’s newest mobility platform.   With over 100 aircraft in service in the air forces of the US, Japan, and Israel, and production continuing for at least 9 more years, the KC-46 will be the primary refueling platform for the USAF. 

This leadership position requires strategic vision and strong decision-making ability, exceptional communication, teamwork, and customer focus skills.  Interaction with multiple levels of company as well as with the customer and suppliers is common. 10 domestic travel is required for this position. 

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with F117 and F139 Program Office leadership and IPMTs to plan, execute and communicate activities in support of contracted program support elements.  

  • Collaborate with internal functional organizations (Engineering, Contracts, Legal, Finance, Integrated Customer Solutions, Global Trade, Customer Support Engineering, and Operations including the Module Center Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain and Quality), as well as external customers, to ensure sustainment support for related contractual requirements. 

  • Interface with customers to determine future customer needs and focus internal support necessary to propose and win new contracts and achieve customer satisfaction. 

  • Support strategic efforts including proposal development for the next F117 Sustainment contract and increased sustainment support for F139. 

  • Ensure sustainment program critical issues are identified, communicated, elevated, and acted on in a timely fashion through the appropriate IPMT processes and channels.  

  • Ensure proper resource allocation for all mobility sustainment functions.  

  • Coordinate closely with the Mature Commercial Engines (MCE) Program Office and Afterspanet Operations to ensure mutual success as the programs share parts and supply chains 

  • Provide inspiring and compassionate people leadership to drive results in the face of adversity. 

  • Utilize CORE principles and a continuous improvement mindset to improve the efficiency of internal and external processes. 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • BS/BA in Business, Engineering, or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

  • 14 years of experience in the aerospace industry, program management, afterspanet operations, business development, proposal management, and/or engine design/development; or an advanced degree with 12 years of experience in these areas

  • Strong track record demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government–issued security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • MBA

  • Working knowledge of military and commercial engine and component overhaul & repair  

  • Business, Material and/or Logistics management knowledge  Familiarity with U.S. Air Force fleet, technical and information management systems, and international customer systems  

  • Superior leadership and teaming skills including the ability to set a vision, communicate effectively, and influence across the organization. 

  • Ability to develop and present material to cross-functional teams and upper levels of company leadership. 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers. 

  • Prior experience working with the U.S. Air Force

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
