Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our team at our AP Filtration site in Bolton.

What will you be doing?
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our aerospace manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective production while meeting strict quality, safety, and delivery targets.
You will manage day-to-day production activities, optimise workflows, and lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, procurement, and quality teams. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure full compliance with aerospace standards including AS9100, ISO, FAA, and CAA regulations.
As a key leader within the business, you will develop and motivate high-performing teams, implement performance metrics, manage production planning and scheduling, and maintain strong control over budgets and operational costs.
This is a critical role focused on delivering on-time, high-quality output while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What will you need to know?
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, ISO, FAA, and CAA. A solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes; including materials, machining, and quality control is essential.
You will be experienced in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies, with a proven ability to drive operational efficiency and reduce waste.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are critical, along with the ability to motivate diverse teams and deliver results in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in ERP systems, production planning tools, and the MS Office Suite is required, with the ability to analyse data and translate insights into operational improvements.
