Job Summary

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a designated manufacturing area, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role is instrumental in leading a high-performing team, optimizing workflows, and consistently achieving or exceeding production targets. Key responsibilities include tracking and analyzing operational metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD), first-pass yield (FPY), scrap and rework rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader who drives accountability, champions continuous improvement through Lean methodologies, and cultivates a culture of collaboration and operational excellence. Additionally, this role serves as a critical liaison between production, engineering, quality, and other support functions to ensure the seamless execution of business objectives through effective leadership, clear communication, and sound problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities

•    Oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned manufacturing area, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely production in alignment with organizational goals.•    Ensure product and process quality through effective use of personnel, equipment, and materials, and by enforcing compliance with internal procedures and applicable industry standards.•    Lead, coach, and develop team members by setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular feedback sessions, and supporting career growth initiatives.•    Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery (OTD), first-pass yield (FPY), scrap/rework rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); take corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.•    Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve process reliability and reduce variability.•    Drive a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean, Six Sigma, 5S/6S, and other operational excellence methodologies.•    Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and proactively addressing potential hazards.•    Serve as a key point of contact between manufacturing and other departments such as engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management to ensure effective communication and execution of priorities.•    Support and participate in new product introductions, ensuring readiness of personnel, processes, and equipment for successful launch.•    Represent the department in internal and external meetings, providing updates on production performance, improvement initiatives, and issue resolution.

Qualifications

•    Associate’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred. •    Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience. •    Solid understanding of industrial engineering principles, including 5S/6S and Lean practices.•    Familiarity with industry standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, AS).•    Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and influence positive outcomes.•    Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
