Job Description:

The Operations Technical Support Manager is accountable for implementing strategies to optimize workflows, reduce costs and enhance overall operational performance.

•tAccountable for the implementation of technical improvements to deliver operational performance targets
•tResponsible for managing the operational expenditure of equipment and tooling in line with budget
•tManagement of 2 direct heads


•tInitiate, develop and execute operational improvement through problem solving and technical innovation
•tLead assigned projects to meet defined targets, timeline and budget
•tEnsure technical equipment and machinery are operational and efficient
•tIdentify single point failures within factory equipment and tooling and develop a roadmap to eliminate
•tImplement and maintain an effective tooling management system
•tMake recommendations for OPEX and Capex expenditure and ensure tracking to set budgets
•tProvide technical support to the operations team, ensuring that the processes and systems run efficiently
•tUse performance data to identify trends and issues, make and execute recommendations for improvements
•tCommunicate effectively with all key stakeholders to ensure appropriate support for technical improvements
•tDevelop and implement health and safety practices to ensure a risk-free and safe work condition
•tConduct risk assessments to analyse risks and operational hazards and ensure actions are take
•tLead and coach direct reports to achieve high performance and defined development goals
•tDeploy site policies and procedures effectively and ensure full adherence by the team
•tMaintain an up-to-date knowledge of technical processes, functions and requirements.
Job Requirements:

•\tDegree of equivalent in mechanical, electronics or production engineering
•\tTenacious approach to continuous improvement with proven ability to identify, develop and implement improvements that deliver increased operational performance
•\tAble to demonstrate an understanding of statistical process control, process FMEA's and lean manufacturing
•\tExcellent knowledge of and a champion of the latest manufacturing techniques
•\tGood financial understanding with an analytical approach
•\tExcellent planning and organisation skills
•\tGood communicator (verbal and written) and ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
•\tResults focused with experience of managing to agreed measures of performance and to tight deadlines
