Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Positive Employee Relations Manager  to join our  Human Resource Team  based in Mobile, AL

The Positive Employee Relations Manager champions Airbus values and culture by working with Leaders, Employees and site HR Business Partners to resolve conflict and to promote a culture in which we actively role-model our Airbus values. The PER Manager will effectively drive Positive Employee Relations initiatives by actively partnering with the Head of PER, the FAL Site HR function, and site leadership to deliver on the promise that Airbus works best when it partners with its employees directly, maintaining Airbus’ status as an employer of choice.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. What You’ll Drive:

  • Fuel Airbus FAL values and culture with managers and business leaders, working daily to ensure that our ideals and culture are understood and incorporated into all employee interactions. 

  • Support Head of PER in managing 2-way, direct relationship with FAL personnel and service suppliers for employee relations purposes. 

  • Address and resolve all employee/labor relations matters quickly and effectively through established and to be developed means. 

  •  Facilitate, at a tactical level, the feedback loop on ER issues to the Head of FAL HR and the rest of senior management, utilizing established PER strategic processes. 

  •  Facilitate understanding of key production pay systems wage progression, bonus, benefits, and development plans, partnering with HRBPs, Compensation, and Shared Services team as required. 

  • Maintains current knowledge and awareness of immediate HR issues and people topics: internal policies and practices, state and federal employment regulations, public social issues, and current interpersonal/team dynamics. 

  • Support active floor sensing initiatives to capture the overall site morale and engagement level. 

  •  Maintain regular, daily connectivity with frontline workforce via consistent shop floor. presence: one hour per day with focus on employee experience and employee advocacy. 

  • Participate in and, at times, lead the PER HRBP weekly rhythm to create and implement best practices.

  • Serve as a critical subject matter expert in operationalizing a new-hire buddy program for site-based new hires.

  • Support North America PER team, as needed, on special projects related to the Mobile, AL FAL and across the region, inclusive of site and regional data analysis needs. 

  • Conduct investigations into employee concerns and EEOC claims. 

  • Supports head of HO PER, resolving disputes between employees and supervisors/management when appropriate.

  •  Escalate to HO PER difficult resolutions when appropriate. 

  •  Partner with PER Director,site leadership and site HR function to resolve root cause issues and concerns to reach agreeable solutions. 

Your boarding pass:

  • Minimum 5 years of prior HR experience with emphasis in Employee Relations, Labor  Relations,  Compliance or Legal topics. 

  •  Experience conducting investigations and managing difficult conversations. 

  •  Experience working with both hourly and salaried client groups. 

  •  Experience in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field OR commensurate prior experience in HR/Employee Relations function.
