Job Title: Pre-Flight Leader
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pre-Flight Leader to enhance and implement operating plans that ensure adherence to quality, cost, and schedules within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role involves planning, implementing, and controlling functional activities to achieve operational targets while supervising union employees in executing their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Support and implement the operating plan to achieve the required Operations Unit performance, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Supervise union employees, implementing and controlling functional activities to meet Operations Unit targets.
- Continuously improve business processes to ensure best practices in quality, cost, and labor relations.
- Coach, develop, and provide feedback to employees, addressing their issues to ensure engagement within the team.
- Utilize Lean Methodology to ensure best practices in quality and cost for Operations Unit deliverables.
- Promote a Safety first environment by maintaining housekeeping standards (5’S) and adherence to working practices.
- Ensure functional roles are integrated into the Operations Unit, resulting in a one-team approach.
- Develop a right first time environment to ensure quality is built into the product, not inspected into it.
Essential Skills
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operations role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools involving shop floor processes.
- Experience in transformations to establish and develop Organizational Excellence.
- In-depth knowledge of KPI utilization.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment and knowledge of the Collective Agreement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AME-M2 License
- High-level customer-oriented approach with a desire to provide excellent service.
- Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, and/or heavy manufacturing is an asset.
- Possess ethics, integrity, and honesty.
- Respect for others, cooperation, and motivation to get things done.
- Ability to express ideas logically and coherently.
- Positive attitude and ability to overcome obstacles.
- Assumes full responsibility and utilizes appropriate resources to solve day-to-day problems.
