Prime Air is seeking an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a strong, results-oriented focus, to drive the delivery of impactful software programs powering the future of autonomous drones at Prime Air.
To be successful, you must combine superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with senior leadership of top-notch development teams and collaborating with our software engineering, hardware design, and integration/test teams. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems. Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive presentation skills are essential.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with software engineering leadership to ensure ongoing software development meets program needs
- Mentor and potentially manage other TPMs to ensure correct program management coverage throughout organization
- Use metrics to inform our product roadmap and priorities
- Manage integration of hardware and software, working across both orgs to establish a single unified schedule
- Partner with key stakeholders to understand needs and deliverables across organizations within Prime Air
- Maintain and present a unified view of the program status of an 8-team organization weekly to quickly identify schedule divergence and drive resolutions
- Take lead on authoring business documents to present to senior leadership
- Track annual goal progress across multiple teams in different specialties
Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Job Requirements:
- 10+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules- 4+ years of software development experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience working within a regulatory aerospace framework (e.g. DO-178C, DO-254, DO-279, DO-356A)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
