Production Manager

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Production Manager to join our Operations team, where you’ll play a critical role in leading manufacturing and assembly operations to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes. This role will be based at our Staverton site.

The Role:

As Production Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day manufacturing and assembly operations, ensuring efficient delivery aligned to plan while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and quality. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll take ownership of production performance across your area, working closely with Cell Managers to drive accountability, engagement and results on the shop floor.

You’ll play a key role in translating strategic objectives into operational delivery, supporting capacity planning and ensuring readiness for new product introductions. Acting as a central escalation point, you’ll confidently manage technical, operational and people-related challenges, enabling your teams to deliver consistently.

A core part of your role will be developing and coaching your leadership team, strengthening capability and building a high-performing, engaged production environment. Alongside this, you’ll champion continuous improvement, embedding Lean principles and driving initiatives that enhance efficiency, performance and employee involvement.

Collaboration will be key, as you build strong relationships across Quality, Engineering and wider Operations to ensure seamless delivery and alignment to business goals.

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced Production Manager with a strong track record of leading manufacturing or complex assembly operations. You’ll bring proven experience of driving performance, embedding structure and governance, and leading teams through both operational delivery and continuous improvement.

You’ll be confident managing day-to-day production environments, with strong people leadership capability and the ability to coach and develop others. Your approach will be proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to navigate challenges and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Experience within a regulated environment, ideally aerospace, would be advantageous, including knowledge or awareness of CAA Part 21 and Part 145 requirements. You’ll also be comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems (with Visual ERP experience beneficial) and have a solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
