Position Summary:

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for managing the Buyer and Warehouse Receiver, working with vendors, and purchasing aerospace products and materials according to the procedures in the company’s Quality Management System to ensure on-time deliveries are met while maintaining budget integrity. The Purchasing Supervisor also serves as the Assistant Facilities Compliance Officer for the plant.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of purchasing staff – Buyer and Warehouse Receiver
  • Organizes, plans, prioritizes & directs team to achieve objectives
  • Evaluate production requirements utilizing ERP system to place purchase orders of raw materials based on production schedule and inventory levels.
  • Work with all internal and external suppliers to ensure on time shipments and deliveries.
  • Serves as Assistant Facilities Compliance Officer (AFCO.
  • Prepare material inventory report monthly and distributed to all applicable parties.
  • Attend daily production meeting to communicate issues effecting material and delivery.
  • Purchase indirect supplies and ensure on time delivery
  • Actively participate in inventory and production meetings.
  • Responsible for cycle count program.
  • Work with a variety of vendors that provide services to the plant
  • Serve as backup to Warehouse Receiver
  • Actively support and participate in continuous improvement activities, team meetings, and holding him/herself accountable for sustaining improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • Five years or more of purchasing & inventory control management experience
  • Preferred two years or more of supervisory experience
  • ERP/MRP software knowledge
  • Manufacturing experience ideal
  • Strong computer skills
