We have an exciting opening for a Quality Department Manager in Greeneville, TN. This position provides leadership and management of the site Quality function in accordance with Parker policies and all applicable customer, regulatory, and U.S. Government requirements. While owning the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure policies, plans, standards, and requirements are defined, deployed, audited, and continuously improved to meet business objectives and customer expectations.
Your main responsibilities
- Define, deploy, and verify quality requirements across the product lifecycle to enable effective planning, control, and compliance.
- Lead Total Quality and continuous improvement initiatives across business units; coordinate TQM/Lean/Six Sigma efforts to drive FPY, DPPM, COPQ, and customer satisfaction improvements.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001; plan and conduct internal audits; ensure external audit readiness.
- Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP (as applicable), FMEA, control plans, process capability, and robust change management for process changes.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D, DMAIC); ensure root cause elimination and effectiveness verification.
- Monitor, analyze, and report quality metrics (e.g., FPY, DPPM, defects, cost of poor quality, warranty/returns) to drive data-informed decisions.
- Manage calibration/metrology programs, including MSA (gage R&R), to ensure measurement integrity.
- Utilize digital/automated systems (e.g., eQMS, ERP/MES, SPC tools) to plan, implement, and track quality processes and records.
- Serve as the customer-facing quality leader: provide timely, comprehensive responses on quality systems and product quality; support customer audits/visits.
- Develop talent: coach, train, and mentor team members; foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure document control and records management per Parker and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, throughput, product quality, cost reduction, and people productivity.
Qualifications
We are looking for talent with:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field required; advanced degree and/or ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CQA, CSSBB) preferred.
- 5–7+ years of progressive quality experience in a world-class manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
- Strong knowledge of Total Quality concepts and ISO 9001
- Proficiency in statistical methods and tools (SPC, capability analysis, DOE); experience with Minitab or equivalent analytics tools.
- Experience with structured corrective action methodologies (8D, DMAIC) and risk management (DFMEA/PFMEA).
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; strong facilitation and coaching capabilities.
- Experience with ERP/MES/QMS platforms and MS Office; data visualization skills preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Limited travel required (e.g., up to 10–15); support supplier and customer visits as needed.
