The Boeing Test & Evaluation UK (BT&E UK) Safety & Regulatory Lead will report to the UK Chief Pilot and work closely with other Boeing and non-company senior leaders. You will be the primary air focal for Safety and Regulatory Affairs for all Boeing flight operations in the UK. The flying organisation is primarily military focussed, including fixed wing, vertical lift and uncrewed aircraft. You will undertake development and in-service SMS activities, lead the teams Air System Safety Case work, and engagements with the UK MAA regulator.
Hiring details:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Middle Wallop, UK. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Onsite: This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position responsibilities:
Lead the Safety and Regulatory Affairs Team within BT&E UK
Provide Air Safety advice to various Boeing leaders and team members
Maintain effectiveness of ASMS and report to senior managers
Lead the Air System Safety Case activities across all platforms operated by Boeing’s Defence Contractor Flying Organisation
Lead Hazard Working Groups to develop and maintain Risk Registers
Mentor team members in SMS including providing formal training
Conduct Safety Investigations within both the flying and associated business units
Monitor and Report Air Safety performance using metrics and suitable formats
Develop and monitor Emergency Response procedures
Interface with Boeing Quality teams for conduct of assurance activities
Generation and maintenance of regulatory compliant safety products
Horizon scanning to ensure best practice is applied including membership and attendance of safety committees and conferences
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Pilot qualifications
Experience leading safety and regulatory activities
Working knowledge of the UK Military Defence Air Environment and associated regulation
The role will have significant UK MoD customer, supplier and wider Boeing interfaces and therefore a person who is diplomatic whilst being strong minded is essential
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with the use of safety tools such as Risk Registers, Bow Tie Diagrams and Air System Safety Cases
Aircrew experience in both rotary and fixed-wing air systems (including Uncrewed)
Experience using formal SMS tools
Safety audit experience and/or training
Emergency Response Planning experience
