8+ Years with diploma 8+ Years with AA 4+ Years with BS degree- May substitute equivalent experience training and/or certifications for the degree.
- 10 years scaffold building experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a supervisory capacity. Ship repair experience is required.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding, knowledge, technical skills, and concepts related to ship-yard scaffolding, to include under water-hull scaffolding for docked ships.
- Understand and working knowledge of NAVSEA specifications and NAVSEA Standard items, USCG, ABS, OSHA standards and other marine guidelines.
- Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures and government regulations.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Board ships, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights to complete the job or inspections.
- Work indoors and outdoors under all weather conditions.
- Physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Responds positively and decisively in normal and emergency situations.
- Ensures compliance to all environmental, health and safety policies and quality standards.
- Assists planners, managers, and superintendents with workflow and strategy.

- Responsible for maintaining all equipment for specific operational performance and optimum utilization as well as ensuring inspections remain current.
- Responsible for enforcing worker compliance with following appropriate procedures in the areas of safety, production, accuracy control, cost, and quality assurance.
