Job Description:
Core Responsibilities:
- Time management: 80 Direct Labor and 20 Indirect Labor
- Communicate with HSE, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Planners, Supervisor(s), and Ops Manager.
- Hold daily “Turnover” meetings with team members in your area of responsibility.
- Schedule daily workflow for areas of responsibility based on customer demand/need.
- Schedule manpower for areas of responsibility based on customer demand/need.
- Maintain production tracking information.
- Identify any gaps in Manpower, Machine, or Material and resolve/escalate as needed.
- Direct assistance with execution of OTD.
- Direct responsibility for efficiency, utilization and scrap metrics.
- Review and have team maintain earned hours to meet or exceed the goal
- Responsible for training, coaching and mentoring new and tenured employees.
- Training employees -directly or touch points while training with another team member if unable to have the knowledge to train
- Provide feedback to the Supervisor and Ops Manager on employee performance.
- Support, direct and ensure accountability for employees within the area of responsibility.
- Support and lead team in Safety
- Maintain job specific PPE at all time and insure team is following all PPE and Safety polices
- JSA up to date on team board
- Identify areas of opportunity or improvement and work to get implemented.
- Identify cross training opportunities and communicate to the Supervisor.
- Manage employee cross training and ensure that the proper documentation is maintained.
- Communicate all process and technical data changes to the operators.
- Be signed off in each area that is under their responsibility.
- Fill production gaps as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining Gemba Boards.
- Perform TPM audits and 6 Success Daily / Weekly
- Accountable for teams daily/weekly TPMs
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a leadership role preferred
- Ability to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. May work with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to communicate verbally or in writing effectively to others.
- Must have excellent organization, people skills, and experience working with others effectively.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force at times and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
- Ability to work in cold and hot environments (approximately 50F-90F degrees)
- Ability to bend and to lift heavy materials (up to 50lbs)
- Ability to repeat motions that may include use of the wrists, hands and/or fingers, and standing or sitting for prolonged periods (average 8-12 hours)
Education Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.
