Job Summary
As our Senior Safety Advisor, you will support safety standards across our Melbourne operations and partner with leaders to help foster a strong safety-first culture.
This role will support day-to-day safety activities across the operation, including hazard identification, risk management, incident support, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role will work closely with operational leaders and employees to promote safe work practices and support compliance with relevant legislation, organisational policies, and safety frameworks.
From time to time, the role may also provide ad hoc support to other operational locations as required.
Some flexibility may be required to support operational needs, including occasional travel and out-of-hours support where necessary.

You will bring the ability to:
- Support a safe working environment and promote a strong safety culture
- Build positive working relationships across operational teams
- Prioritise work effectively and manage competing deadlines
- Support compliance with relevant legislation, standards and organisational policies
- Partner with staff, supervisors and managers to implement practical safety improvements
- Provide guidance to leaders and employees on safety, security and environmental matters
- Support reporting, reviews, and incident investigations as required
- Assist with the delivery of safety-related training and inductions
- Contribute to continuous improvement across safety systems and practices
Experience and Competencies
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in a workplace safety, WHS or similar advisory role
- Understanding of WHS frameworks, practices and principles
- Experience supporting incident investigations, risk management and safety reporting
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Solid Microsoft Office and database skills, including data analysis and reporting
- Contractor management exposure
- A practical, solutions-focused approach in operational environments
Desirable:
- Experience in aviation, ground operations, transport, logistics or another operationally complex environment
- Working knowledge of Australian aviation regulations, airport and airline operational procedures
- Exposure to ISO standards, auditing, risk management, or incident investigation frameworks
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in one or more of the following will be highly regarded:
- Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent
- Incident Investigation
- Quality Auditing
- Risk Management
