Job Description

In line with the strategic orientations defined by the company, the Senior Director Network Planning and Strategy elaborates the network development plan for the medium and long term (18 months to 5 years), based on the context of the environment (competition, economy, market growth), historical results and the companys financial objectives. He/she establishes the economic and strategic optimum for all routes of the Air Transat’s network over the coming years, identifying opportunities for growth and asset optimization, playing a key role in defining the organizations strategic plan.

On the one hand, he/she is responsible for the Network Strategy department, which aims to define fleet requirements, as well as network strategy over the long term (next 2 to 5 years), and structuring projects such as the analysis of strategic partners or cabin optimization.

On the other hand, he/she is in charge of the Network Planning department, with the aim of defining the flight schedule for the coming seasons, identifying growth/decrease opportunities on existing routes, optimizing fleet utilization, defining schedules and new destinations.

Defining the future development of Transats airline offering is central to the organizations strategy. As such, the role requires close coordination between the various departments that contribute to it. For this reason, the Future Program plays a key role in coordinating various departments such as finance, revenue management, alliances, flight operations, marketing, sales, hotel contracts, among others.

Responsabilities:

  • Ensure the best definition of the network strategy in order to meet the organizations strategy and financial objectives, as well as feed into its continuous improvement process.
  • Define the long-term fleet plan in line with network strategy and financial objectives;
  • Define the flight schedule for the coming seasons, based on the environment (demand and competitive context), past and forecast results, feasibility and acceptability within the organization.
  • Define the development of new routes, establishing success criteria and defining expectations for the first years of operation.
  • Analyze the economic relevance of evolving current and future partnerships.
  • Ensure the departments economic expertise, by analyzing and communicating results, as well as supporting the Current Programs medium/short-term decisions.
  • Prepare presentations leading to the approval of strategic choices related to the future program;
  • Communicate future program choices to the various departments;
  • Act as a driving force for methodological and organizational innovation;

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in airline sales (Network Planning, Revenue Management, Alliances, Sales), including at least 5 years in management. Experience in Network Planning is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific and/or economic field (mathematics, economics, optimization, operational research, etc.);
  • Mathematical or economic knowledge;
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships with team members and partners;
  • Sense of leadership and innovation and strong communication skills;
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and French;
  • Good adaptability in a constantly changing environment.
