- The role requires periodic travel to regional ifly Centres (BOM, BLR, HYD & CCU) to deliver training programs as per business and operational needs
Role PurposeThe Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) Instructor is responsible for delivering DGCA-approved safety and emergency procedures training to cabin crew. The role ensures that trainees are proficient in aircraft safety systems, emergency drills, and regulatory procedures, with strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and standardization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct DGCA-approved Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) training as per approved manuals and SOPs
- Deliver classroom, aircraft, and mock-up based training including evacuation, ditching, slide drills, and emergency equipment usage
- Ensure trainee safety at all times during practical drills and exercises.
- Brief trainees on facility safety guidelines prior to commencement of drills
- Continuously monitor training sessions and ensure drills are never left unattended.
- Identify, report, and escalate safety, security, or quality deviations immediately
- Conduct assessments and checks as per SEP training requirements
- Maintain accurate training records, log sheets, and assessment documentation
- Ensure readiness of training records for DGCA audits, inspections, and spot checks.
- Maintain standardization and compliance with DGCA CARs and IndiGo Safety Policy
Qualification & Experience• DGCA-approved Safety and Emergency Procedures Instructor qualification
• Prior experience for 2 years as SEP Instructor on A320-321
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft safety systems and emergency procedures
Graduate in any discpline
Skills & Competencies- Strong instructional and presentation skills
- High safety awareness and risk management capability
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to manage trainees during high-intensity drills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
AccountabilityAccountable for maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and training quality. Responsible for trainee safety during all SEP training activities
