The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Advanced Concepts team located in Southern California is hiring for a Senior High Speed Aerodynamicist to support Flight Sciences in Long Beach, CA.
The Aerodynamicist will be responsible for evaluating aerodynamic design with wing design and optimization considerations for airplane level assessments, utilizing various computational tools and methods to evaluates preliminary design trade studies.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Senior Level 4 or Senior Level 5.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads the performance of aerodynamic analysis and design of flight vehicles and their components
Establishes scope and framework for standardization of design processes and common tools identification
Leading the development for improving vehicle performance, capability and safety, design and development cycle times and state of the art or technology readiness level to create and validate new design and analysis processes
Oversees analyses and testing to determine that compliance requirements
Develops the strategy for new test processes and procedures.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Long Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics
9+ years of experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) based aerodynamic analysis and design
Experience with 3D modelling software (e.g. CATIA)
Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):
12 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Product development or conceptual airplane design experience
High speed aerodynamic design and analysis experience
Experience with CFD tools (e.g. Overflow, TRANAIR, CFD++)
Airplane sizing and analysis experience including vehicle sizing and performance principles, tools, and processes
Project managements skills and the ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
Typical Education/Experience:
Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 4): $121,550 – $164,450
Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 5): $147,900 - $200,100
