Job Description:

As a Senior Manager Inflight Entertainment & Connectivity, you will be responsible to ensure QR continues to be an industry leader in IFEC (Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity), constantly pushing the boundaries in a bid to enhance passenger experience.  Develop and execute the full IFEC strategy for the airline.  Elevate the IFE seatback user experience and connectivity by integrating innovative digital solutions.  Drive digital innovation initiatives to enhance the overall passenger experience, including crew, lounge, food and beverage (F&E), customer experience, IT, and digital experience.

Strategic

  • Evaluate and analyse market trends and recommend systems/new technologies that will allow QR to provide an optimal customer experience, providing for long term sustainable growth.
  • Provide leadership and input for all strategic IFEC plan implementation process, of all onboard IFEC products.
  • Spearhead implementation and manage technical projects in order to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Promoting the IFEC product for greater awareness internally and externally.
  • Set KPls and thresholds to drive team performance
  • Accountable for the overall IFEC budget.
  • Setting output targets for program initiatives and managing collective and individual performance towards these targets.

IFE Content Strategy

  • Develop a comprehensive IFE content strategy aligned with the airlines brand and target audience.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and partnerships to enhance the entertainment offerings.
  • Collaborate with content providers to curate a diverse range of content, including movies, TV shows, documentaries, and games, catering to passengers of all ages and preferences.

IFE Seatback User Experience

  • Enhance the user experience of the IFE seatback systems by collaborating with the technology team and vendors.
  • Identify and integrate interactive features, such as personalized recommendations, and an intuitive user interface, to offer a seamless entertainment experience.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive and seamless digital experience for passengers throughout their journey.
  • Ensure the seatback systems are reliable, user-friendly, and up-to-date with the latest technological advancements.

Connectivity Experience

  • Develop and implement strategies to provide seamless connectivity options for passengers, including onboard Wi-Fi, streaming services, and seatback connectivity applications.
  • Collaborate with service providers to ensure a stable and high-speed internet connection throughout the flight.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the connectivity experience based on passenger feedback and emerging technologies.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to in-flight connectivity and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and best practices are followed.

Digital Innovation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, customer experience, and operations, to implement innovative solutions that streamline processes and enhance the overall passenger experience.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration of digital solutions across various IFEC platforms and systems.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for digital innovation in passenger experience.
  • Monitor and analyze passenger feedback and data to identify areas for improvement and continuously enhance the digital passenger experience.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals involved in entertainment and digital experience initiatives, including setting goals, providing feedback, and fostering professional development.
  • Foster strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders to stay ahead of market trends and drive innovation partnerships.
  • Effectively manage budget and resources to ensure cost-conscious decision making in the implementation of digital initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for digital innovations in passenger experience within the airline

Qualifications

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Product Development & Design Team

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Marketing, Aviation Management).
  • 10+ years of job-related experience
  • Proven experience in IFE content strategy, seatback user experience, and digital innovation within the airline or aviation industry
  • Extensive knowledge of IFE hardware systems and how they work.
  • Technical know-how of implementing changes on aircraft (Service Bulletins)
  • Strong knowledge of the latest entertainment technologies, connectivity solutions, and industry trends.
  • Experience in implementing digital solutions and enhancing passenger experiences.
  • Understanding encoding and media integration
  • Understanding of movie, TV and audio licensing.
  • GUI design/ Pax GUI flow chart/ channel lineup.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues related to the digital passenger experience.
