ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As Manager Tax you will be responsible for advising on tax-related matters and support the tax effectiveness implementation of approved business strategies, with the overall objectives to create, protect and optimize value from a tax perspective in the context of SITAs business objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Director International Taxation you will be a part of the finance team responsible for managing tax-related risks. Ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements in the Middle East .

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• For the ME region and particular projects as applicable, advise and support the implementation in the areas of:

1.Tax Planning & Effective Tax Rate (ETR) management

•Identify, plan, and execute agreed international tax projects.

•Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to the business, including advising management regarding the tax impact of new laws and regulations.

•Tax review and approval for specific business projects.

•Contribute to and influence the development of the Companys financial policies, instruments, and regulations from the expert standpoint.

2.Tax accounting & Reporting

•Support the calculation of the tax provisions and the financial statement disclosure in the global and local accounts.

•Collaboration with the other SITA’s departments to ensure the accuracy of the data reported in the tax returns.

•Prepare and review the reconciliations of the Tax Ledgers/ Tax GL accounts/ Revenue.

•Support the accounting team on analysis and tax depreciation workings.

3.Tax compliance & Audit Défense

•Be responsible for the Company’s tax compliance, tax planning, accounting for income taxes, and preparation of applicable tax returns in compliance with local tax rules.

•Drive tax compliance in consultation with an external tax consultant and coordinate with the group tax team on reporting, including direct tax, indirect tax & TP.

•Manage and drive all tax audits and certifications to closures within defined timelines.

•Consolidate information for internal and external audits and ensure completeness and accuracy of all such information.

•Coordinate/control/follow up on the VAT refunds and tax payments.

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

• Minimum 7 years or working experience in an accounting/VAT environment preferably within a medium to large international company with a matrix business structure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, accounting, and/or tax.
• Arabic native speaker or full professional proficiency
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to multitask to stand up to pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrate the ability to use sound judgment discretion and professional integrity
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships within the organization and with outside stakeholders
• Team player and committed to work
• Attention to detail and accuracy of work

• Pro-active mindset

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Experience in big 4 companies is a plus.
• French speaking candidate is an extra plus.
