Position Summary

The Senior Manager Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) reports to the Director Maintenance Operations Center and has overall responsibility and authority to direct the operations of JetBlue Maintenance Control and Technical Support activities. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assigns daily oversight of Deferred Maintenance items and Maintenance Control activities to the Duty Manager of Maintenance Control 
  • Responsible for the technical accuracy of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL) and Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishing List (NEF) 
  • Assists the Director Maintenance Operations Center in formulating the Maintenance Technical Support budget 
  • Schedules and monitors the daily manpower requirements for Maintenance Control Duty Manager 
  • Oversees Deferred Maintenance Program (MEL/CDL/General Maintenance Manual (GMM) items) 
  • Responsible for Out of Service Aircraft and coordinates Return to Service plan 
  • Assists the Director Maintenance Operations Center in establishing Maintenance Control procedures 
  • Accepts Delegation of Authority from the Director Maintenance Operations Center during an absence  
  • Assists in the revision of company manuals 
  • Conducts or delegates the Technical Operations Performance Review 
  • Takes a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, goal achievement 
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate 
  • Six (6) years of airline maintenance experience 
  • Four (4) years of aviation leadership experience 
  • Working knowledge of Part 121 Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s) 
  • Experience building and managing a budget 
  • Track record of capturing value and savings within a Technical Operations function 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Excellent verbal, written, as well as strong analytical and time management skills 
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (30%) 
  • Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States 
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge 
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance 
  • Possess and maintain a valid U.S. Driver’s License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test 
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located 
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an aviation related field 
  • Experience leading a large and multi department Tech Ops work group 
  • Ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, in a demanding, and fast-paced operation 
  • Accountable and results driven

  • Regular attendance and punctuality 
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance 
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR)) 
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls 
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation: 

  • The base pay range for this position is between $111,400.00 and $156,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
