Position Title Senior Officer, Express Handling Unit
Report To Manager, Special Product Cargo Handling
Position Summary The position is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operational functions in MABKargo, Special Product Handling in Express Handling Unit. This includes monitoring operations, ensuring compliance with handling requirements and regulations, and meeting the customer service agreements.
Key Accountability - Supervise the handling of time-critical shipments, including express parcels, courier freight, mail, and valuable/vulnerable (VAL/VUN) cargo, in compliance with airline, IATA, and security regulations.
- Ensure timely processing, secure handling, and accurate documentation of sensitive and high-priority shipments within the warehouse.
- Monitor, plan, and oversee overall operational functions, including physical cargo handling, data updates, documentation, and daily revenue collection.
- Work closely with other departments and business units to ensure that all departures and arrivals meet service level agreements. Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration to prevent delays and operational disruptions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies. Respond promptly and professionally, providing accurate information while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and service standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and verify daily performance of external vendors involved in cargo handling. Prepare detailed operational summary reports highlighting performance metrics, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that operational improvement initiatives are executed as planned. Track progress, assess effectiveness, and recommend adjustments to enhance productivity, compliance, and service quality.
Qualification & Working Experience - Minimum SPM/SPMV,DVM, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in cargo operations, express handling, or air freight, preferably within an airport or logistics environment.
Special / Professional Certificate - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., IATA Cargo Handling, Dangerous Goods Regulations, Air Cargo Security) are highly desirable
Areas of Experience - Experience supervising or coordinating a team in a warehouse or cargo handling environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with airline operations, IATA standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
