In this role, you’ll drive guest self-serve capabilities, boost revenue, and enhance engagement for both guests and members. Collaborating closely with the Portfolio Manager and a team of passionate product owners, developers, and stakeholders, you’ll contribute to building and executing a strategy aligned with our product OKRs.

   

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in delivering product strategies, along with a strong grasp of mobile and web UX best practices and underlying technologies. They possess expert-level product management skills and are passionate about driving digital channel performance and product development. Experience in boosting conversion, enhancing loyalty program engagement, and advancing personalization across web and mobile platforms is highly valued. This individual thrives in an agile environment, demonstrates a high standard of excellence, builds strong relationships, embraces challenges, and is relentlessly results-driven.

Key deliverables:   

  • Serve as the strategic right hand to the Portfolio Manager, taking ownership of team oversight, proactively driving initiatives forward, and keeping leadership informed through clear, timely communication.
  • Influence and assist on strategic vision for the Mobile App, using it to establish product strategies, identify KPIs, and assist in developing short- and long-term roadmaps that support both our business and our guests
  • Lead end-to-end product initiatives that include UX research, development of user flows (with UX/Design), creating product requirements, building user stories and performing ongoing optimizations in an Agile manner using Scrum methodology   
  • Apply a data driven approach to define, prioritize, and validate the Product roadmap and backlog, using multiple data sources and customer insight (qualitative and quantitative) to continuously drive improvements in the user experience, conversion, and engagement with the WestJet Brand
  • Define key metrics and estimated impact for digital initiatives while serving as champion on digital product performance  
  • Manage team deliverables and timelines related to projects, resolving conflicting priorities or removing scope where needed 
  • Research and recommend enhancements based on guest feedback, competitive digital product analysis, and industry trends, while identifying guest pain points and mobile app optimization opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to gather clear, aligned requirements that support both business and product goals—while managing expectations and securing approval on deliverables
  • Build close, collaborative relationships with developers, design, UX research and IT partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market plans that highlight the value and functionality of our mobile experience

Experience and qualifications:   

  • Completed Diploma or Bachelors Degree (Technical/ Business/ Science)   
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience working in digital or emerging technology   
  • 5+ years of experience working with a digital product (e-commerce, travel, profile, or loyalty is an added benefit)
  • Experience managing mobile designs with a large consumer footprint   
  • Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment   
  • Experience defining scope and managing key deliverables for large projects  
  • Experience with software development and an appreciation for project management 
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail   
  • Experience in conversion optimization testing 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills 
  • Proven experience in roadmap management, user story development and prioritization   
  • A working history that shows a commitment to transparency, trust, and collaboration across all levels of seniority 
  • A love for education and learning about best-in-class practices, customer experiences, and industry trends  
  • Willingness to mentor intermediate Product Owners on the team 
  • Advanced knowledge in the following practices (preferred):  
    • Mobile User Experience & Design
    • Agile Product Development
    • Adobe Analytics and Performance Tracking
    • Customer Centric Product Strategy
