Senior Project Manager (d/m/w) for Mission Operations
For Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager (d/m/w) for the Mission Operations department.
As a Senior Project Manager (d/m/w) at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH, you will be responsible for leading complex and strategically important projects in the field of Satellite and Mission Operations. You will ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects while adhering to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
The Mission Operations department is involved in various projects, ranging from IT infrastructures and secure communication networks to the operation of satellites and ground stations, as well as the maintenance of satellites in orbit. The Mission Operations team consists of multidisciplinary and highly qualified experts who ensure the continuity of services and safe operation at the highest level for our customers worldwide. Your tasks and responsibilities:
Management and execution of complex projects
Leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams and managing subcontractors
Contributing to proposal preparation and supporting negotiations regarding workshare, costs, etc.
Developing project plans and ensuring timely execution, including time, quality, resource, and budget planning
Ensuring effective communication and close collaboration between project teams, specialist departments, program areas, and suppliers
Cross-functional alignment of technical and organizational project objectives
Ensuring compliance with quality standards and processes
Conducting project reviews and documenting progress
Monitoring project progress and taking action in case of deviations
Creation and maintenance of project management processes
Direct interface with the customer and other stakeholders
Reporting on project status and relevant key figures to management
Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities
Desired skills and qualifications
Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a comparable field
Many years of practical experience (>10 years) in the project management of complex projects, preferably in the field of mission operations and associated satellite and ground infrastructure
Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English are mandatory
Efficient, structured, and results-oriented working method
High level of responsibility
Flexibility in the face of challenges, as well as resilience and decisiveness even under time pressure
Very good presentation and communication skills
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP)
Willingness for occasional business trips
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
