As a member of the Avionics Business Capture team, the Senior Sales Director will lead sales and business development efforts for GE Aerospace’s Avionics business segment.This dynamic and growing business provides cutting-edge solutions, including networked computing, digital backbone systems, data transfer systems, controls and displays, flight management systems, health management, stores management, cockpit and data recorders, and a comprehensive suite of other Avionics capabilities. Avionics serves both commercial and military customers, making demonstrated success in these areas highly desirable.In addition to expertise in Avionics, experience in adjacent markets such as ground vehicles, marine systems, or other defense applications is also desirable, as these areas may provide opportunities for growth and cross-market collaboration.In this role, you will identify growth opportunities and lead sales campaigns to capture new original equipment and services business. The Senior Sales Director will also act as a product sales expert when needed. While the role primarily focuses on domestic markets, it may also involve international exposure. Roles and Responsibilities
Lead major cross-functional campaigns and pursuits for Avionics programs across Aerospace and adjacent markets.
Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities to drive growth.
Represent Avionics systems product lines to successfully position GE Aerospace’s products and services in military and civil markets.
Build and maintain influential relationships with customers at all organizational levels.
Develop detailed customer contact plans to strategically position products and services.
Create and execute opportunity pursuit and capture plans.
Manage the development of complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts.
Lead or support negotiations to close deals effectively.
Oversee CRM systems to track pursuits and opportunities.
Provide commercial and technical expertise within the Avionics market segment.
Contribute to operating planning and forecasting processes.
Assist in developing and executing an overall growth strategy for Avionics products and services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace, defense, or related industries with business development, sales, marketing, commercial operations, or program/account management.
Ability to travel 25-50 as needed to meet job requirements.
Desired Characteristics
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Prior experience with aircraft mission/vehicle avionics and subsystems.
Proven success in leading aerospace/defense OEM and DOD pursuits.
Experience managing complex proposals.
Familiarity with aircraft systems and operations.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
