As Discipline Lead for Engineering Source Approval (ESA), you will be responsible to mentor, drive change, and support the Discipline Chief, Fellows, and People Leaders to improve the overall proficiency and efficiency of the ESA team. These responsibilities are in addition to the ESA engineer primary role and is a working leader role. These responsibilities will not include supervision of employees.
What You Will Do:
- Identify opportunities for improvements to processes, procedures, and specifications and drive necessary changes.
- Identify opportunities to bolster, clarify, and improve ESA standard work. Coordinate the drafting of updates and facilitate final approval by the Discipline Chief.
- Support initiatives in alignment with the Discipline/Leadership Team, including any special projects which may develop.
- Advocate for ESA and the PPV organization, and serve as discipline focal point with our stakeholders (e.g. MPE, Operations, MCL), engaging with them on a regular basis.
- Ensure consistency in application of requirements across practitioners and sources, and coordinate with other Discipline Leads and RSA.
- Identify emerging issues and opportunities impacting the ESA Forging team’s discipline health and its ability to support (e.g. new processes, limited proficiency or gaps).
- Build group consensus for broad-reaching issues impacting ESA and Source Approvals.
- Set the agenda and lead the ESA discipline meeting. Assist DC in defining and documenting proficiency progression criteria, and assessing ESA Discipline Health.
- Actively engage in training and mentoring employees working in Engineering Source Approvals.
- Coordinate initial and refresher training of ESA processes (i.e. ESA 101) for the supply base.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
- PL3 or above in ESA experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- In-depth knowledge of ESA standard work and processes, and a solid understanding of OEM shop practices and regulatory procedures.
- Vast knowledge of materials and processes used in gas turbine engine manufacturing.
- Ability to mentor both experienced and early-career colleagues.
- Business acumen and awareness across the PW environment.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions in area of expertise.

This role is: Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
