The Senior Fuel Management Consultant delivers on our Purpose by driving the optimization of end-to-end Fuel Management processes, Risk Management, Data Analytics, and automation initiatives by partnering with Leaders within Fuel Strategy and Management (FS&M) and its Stakeholder groups. This role with serve as the primary support group that assists users of the Allegro (ETRM) system, providing solutions and workarounds as needed. The Senior Fuel Management Consultant is a dynamic leader with strong communication skills who is excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and drive the future of Southwest.

Responsibilities
  • Masters an understanding of how business processes may be automated or enhanced by the optimization of fuel management technology and/or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies through continuous learning, participation in user forums, and "best practice" research
  • Provide detailed financial analysis to FS&M Leadership for all three functional Teams to assist in strategy development and execution
  • Provide critical month-end financial close support for Fuel Management System (FMS) Stakeholders and act as FMS SME on an ad-hoc basis
  • Develops and leverages new technical skills and stays abreast of emerging technologies and processes that can benefit the business
  • Competent in in gathering requirements and crafting Statements of Work (SOW) for development teams to enhance software capabilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in fuel value chain principles and understand how each business unit within and external to FS&M operates and interfaces with one another in order to identify gaps and waste
  • Understand the elements of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of fuel products and services in order to identify optimization and cost savings opportunities
  • Uses the power of "big data" and analytical skills from various technology sources to support decision making
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&39;s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of refined products, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services, including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer Satisfaction
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Knowledge of Oracle SQL Developer, ETRM, Tableau, Alteryx, Quickbase, Microsoft Power BI, and Cloud
  • Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organizations strategic plan through KPI reporting Ability to flex proficiently between business process improvement, data analysis and strategy development tasks seamlessly, tracking progress to ensure projects remain on track
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
  • Skilled in determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
  • Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Ability to effectively balance tasks and assignments to meet project management and operational needs
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form best practices or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience
  • Expert-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
    • Energy Value Chain, supporting CRTM or ERTM, Supply Chain or Logistics
    • Issues/risk management and project change requests
  • Preferred: Experience in SQL, Oracle, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Quickbase, Allegro

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
  • May be required to work after-hours or on-call occasionally, particularly during critical month-end financial close periods to provide timely support to Customers
  • Air travel with overnight stays required
