The Connected Aircraft Navigation Systems Product Manager will be responsible for the Flight Management Systems (FMS) Product Line. You will partner with sales, engineering, contracts, finance, marketing and program management to build and manage product and investment strategy for your assigned products, collect voice of the customer, identify product differentiation, build roadmaps, capture internal & external funding, capture new development programs, manage product development, deliver financial results and identify and develop product offerings for the business. You will partner with your fellow product managers to support the entire Connected Aircraft portfolio. This will include sharing workload as proposal and program activity drives peaks and valleys across the portfolio. One program that you will be responsible for immediately is the Boeing 737 FMS update. Note: The preferred location for this role is at the Grand Rapids, Michigan or Clearwater, FL, but remote work within the United States may be considered based on candidate qualifications.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update product line strategy and roadmaps using the “What Game are you Playing / How do you Win” and Multi-Generational Product Plan models, present at regularly scheduled reviews and own / delegate assigned action items
Partner with Sales and Customer Account Managers to engage with customers ahead of potential opportunities to influence solicitations in our favor through industry events, technical interchange meetings, presentations and demonstrations
Partner with sales to seek out new opportunities for the product line, identifying proposed solutions that solves customer problems, develop win strategy and price to win utilizing industry knowledge and competitive intelligence, and supporting Gate Reviews
Lead cross-functional team to deliver assigned proposals, working with engineering to develop a job analysis, review proposal responses and support reviews, provide direction to pricing, review Ts&Cs with contracts, capture CAPEX needs, and collaborating with Comm Ops on the overall schedule
Own the investment planning for the product line and manage IR&D projects, partnering with engineering to identify development needs, prioritizing based on product strategy, roadmap, and near-term opportunities, holding regular reviews and supporting leadership reviews
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in avionics in roles such as product, program, systems, or engineering
Ability to travel up to 25 as needed
