Honeywells ACST team is seeking a Sr R&D Manager forour Broomfield, CO location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire and manage a group of direct-report engineers, scientists and technicians
  • Lead your team by assigning them to technical projects and then mentoring them as they take technical direction from the Tech Lead and Principal Investigators
  • Coordinate personnel commitments and enable them to meet technical milestones and advancements towards manufacturing & commercialization efforts
  • Support Honeywell by working with your team to deliver creative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers
  • Partner with systems engineers and a larger research team to architect, design, build, and test custom subsystems for use in research and commercial environments
  • Write and deliver performance appraisals, approve expense reports, set and evaluate goals and ensure team success in meeting near-term breakthroughs
  • Own laboratory resources, coordinate facility updates, manage and support Capital equipment installations, and maintain department expenses
  • Provide leadership and uphold our high-performing team culture
U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Mustbe a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • 12+ years of research and development experience in science or engineering
  • 5+ years managing and mentoring other engineers or scientists, including writing performance appraisals
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain a security clearance
WE VALUE
  • Masters degree in a technical discipline
  • Experience with Program Management or as a Technical Lead in a cutting-edge R&D environment
  • R&D experience in environmental controls including cryogenics, magnetics, systems engineering, or mechanical engineering for design & analysis 
  • Experience developing project and resource plans
  • Interest in working in a rapid prototyping environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

This role will remain open for applications until an offer is accepted or position is cancelled.

Salary range for this role is as follows- $162,000- 202,000
