As a Technical Subcontract Manager (TSM) you will lead the technical support efforts to managing subcontractors across a large ISR program. The TSM manages a team of engineers assigned as the primary technical point of contract for each supplier. They are responsible for management of all technical content created under the subcontract and coordination of reviews of supplier generation content across the pertinent programs Integrated Product Team leads to ensure alignment with the Weapon System design. This will require high coordination with Supplier Program Manager, IPT technical leads, Chief Engineer, technical SMEs, program managers, and customer representatives.

Your duties will also include defining supplier required delivers through all phases of the systems engineering life cycle from program inception and design concepts through major program milestones criteria (SRR/PDR/CDR), and first article and product deliveries. You will oversee subcontractor SDRLs, technical system specifications, product designs, system architecture, Working Groups, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), supplier visits, lab and development approaches, certification documentation, qual and acceptance test approaches and other supplier deliveries. You will be supported by program IPT leads, engineering and program SMEs, and the quality organization.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in a related discipline and typically 12 or more years of relevant technical experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering principles and practices  
  • Experience in working and leading large design and development teams 
  • Thorough understanding of systems engineering including: requirements management, systems design and integration, technical risk identification and management, and Verification and Validation principles 
  • Experience managing subcontractors during the development of new products
  • Extensive understanding of FAA certification requirements and impacts on supply chain component design and qualification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in design and development of large aircraft of extensive aircraft modification programs.
  • Understanding of ITAR, licensing, and compliance requirements
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Practical knowledge of industry standard system engineering design principles, requirements management approaches, Traditional Systems Engineering and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) approaches 
  • Earned Value Management experience
  • Extensive background in assessing and addressing Aerospace and Defense System Complexity and System Integration challenges 
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team through system baseline definition and maturation exercises in a complex development setting 
  • Experience in executing high-impact trade studies 
  • Thorough understanding of establishing, tracking, and addressing key programmatic risks 
  • Extensive understanding of Configuration Management and Data Management practice on large development programs.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $159,430.15 - $219,216.46. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
