What is the position : The Stores Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all stock clerks in support of the assigned base’s aircraft maintenance activity.
Essential Functions:
- Accountable for the Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities described in the Companys SMS Manual and Title 14 CFR Part 5.23.
- The Stores Supervisor establishes work schedules and ensures adequate shift coverage for a 24 x 7 stores operation.
- The Stores Supervisor is generally on duty during the swing shift period Monday through Friday but shall adjust his/her schedule as the operation, training and shift coverage dictates.
- The Stores Supervisor coordinates with the Manager Inventory Control and the Manager Material Systems to generate cycle count sheets and ensure that all counts are completed and reconciled daily.
- Provide hands-on supervision to Stores personnel including training, employee development, reviews, counseling, and disciplinary action.
- Participates with the Manager in the stores clerk interview and hiring process.
- Oversees the assignment and timely completion of the daily cycle counting program discrepancy resolution, root cause analysis, and defect elimination.
- Establishes daily department workloads in support of Dept. Manager objectives.
- Ensures a productive and safe working environment for departmental personnel.
- Oversee the routing and communications of all aircraft parts movements including AOG.
- Maintains proper, secure, and efficient inventory storage facilities and procedures.
- Oversees the prompt shipping of unserviceable rotatable components to repair service providers.
- Ensure that Stores practices meet Company objectives and are consistently reviewed for cost criteria and savings opportunities
- Coordinate with the Training Department to develop departmental training programs and ensure training needs are accomplished.
- Designated training instructor for forklift operation and hazmat/dangerous goods shipping
- Oversee the Tool Management Program.
- Ensure departmental compliance regarding FAA regulations, hazardous materials. handling/training, OSHA regulations, and Company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with Receiving Inspection and Quality Assurance to maintain an uninterrupted flow of parts through the shipping and receiving process.
- Work in tandem with the other Materials and Sourcing Department Managers to improve processes and eliminate waste.
- Regular attendance is essential function of all positions at CommuteAir.
- Other duties as assigned.
General requirements & qualifications
- Previous inventory control experience, preferably in an airline operation
- Demonstrated supervisory abilities.
- In-depth knowledge in Dangerous Goods/HazMat shipping and handling processes
- Excellent communication and employee motivation skills
- Excellent MS Office suite skills and experience with airline operations software.
- Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
- Legally authorized to work in the USA.
