Description

The Supervisor, Base Operations guides a cross-functional airport crew to provide a safe, pleasant, reliable experience for our customers. The Supervisor inspires the crew to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities and Outcomes

1) A safe operation is maintained in which crew members are knowledgeable about best practices and an environment is created that promotes safety 100 of the time while encouraging open communication regarding safety concerns.

  • Zero aircraft damage incidents.
  • Audits do not reveal any safety concerns.

2) On-time operational performance is achieved through effective leadership of day-to-day activities and crew members are held accountable for adherence to the company Values, Vision, and Purpose.

  • Base meets or exceeds company performance KPIs.
  • Appropriate number of Stations crew members are scheduled and available daily.

3) Excellent operational performance is maintained through training, motivation, and teamwork while conforming to Federal regulations and company standard.

  • Base audit scores meet or exceed standards.
  • Crew member training/records meet FAA standards.

4) Customers are inspired to travel by the service they receive and the ease of the experience.

  • Customer concerns are resolved at the airport level, zero customer complaints are elevated, and established Customer satisfaction metrics are achieved.

5) Effective communication and coordination among Stations, Flight Ops, Inflight, and Tech Ops crew members is achieved, and all crew members perform as ‘one crew’. Supervisor, Base Operations will act as ‘quarterback’ for the Base team on the assigned shift to ensure the company meets or exceeds every customer travel experience.

  • All crewmembers work together to reach common goals.

6) Professional relationships are created with airport officials, other airline personnel, and the company is represented in a positive manner during regulatory inspections and audits by FAA, TSA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies as required.

  • Participation in airport meetings as requested.
  • Successful communication with regulatory agencies.

7) Administrative aspects of the base including but not limited to cost control, time-keeping standards, reporting, and supply orders are managed effectively.

  • Base costs are at or below budget.
  • Required reports are complete and on-time.
  • Supplies are available as required.

  • Hiring of Station agents.
  • Daily schedules of Stations crew members.
  • Purchasing of Station supplies.
  • Customer service exceptions.
  • Local operational standards and procedures.

  • Training plan.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Give and receive verbal communication by reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Flexible schedule to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Frequent standing, walking, with the ability to reach, kneel, and climb.
  • Ability to operate various equipment including but not limited to boarding ramps, tugs, belt loaders.
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs.
  • Tolerance for exposure to various environmental conditions, heights, small spaces, and loud noises such as aircraft, vehicles, and other machinery.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of airline Station Operations experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferably in the airline industry.
  • Become qualified and remain current in all responsible disciplines within 30 days including Ground Security Coordinator

Licenses/Designations

  • Possess a valid US state drivers license

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments)
