Must maintain finance specified goals for inventory accuracy. Responsible for writing and updating all departmental work instructions and providing on the job training. Responsible for warehouse safety policy enforcement. Responsible for the highest level of customer service while maintaining a relationship with the staff that encourages teamwork and high morale. Responsible for daily work at multiple warehouse locations. Responsible for warehouse layout and cleanliness. Takes primary responsibility for interdepartmental communication. Responsible to manage over-time and controlling the expense of departmental supplies MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES. Description 
  • Daily Operational Maintenance
    • Monitor daily work priorities; review sales order and receiving reports to prioritize work.
    • Takes primary responsibility for interdepartmental communication
    • Communicates daily with PMO, OA and QC to achieve on time delivery goals and set operation priorities
    • Ensure all departmental functions are covered by work instructions and that these work instructions reflect the actual jobs being accomplished.
    • Maintain departmental training records and focuses on complete cross-training of the staff.
    • Responsible for Warehouse layout and cleanliness. Maintains a 5S organization
  • Supervisory
    • Coordinate personnel for AOG, weekend and other off hour support.
    • Monitor the Boeing courier support and ensures proper coverage for vacations and absences.
    • Staff development and training. Directly responsible for hiring regular and contract employees
    • Establish root cause and corrective action for any picking, shipping or receiving errors
    • Supervise the Defective Material cage including the company recycling activity.
    • Write warehouse performance appraisals / improvement plans and discusses with the Departmental Director.
    • Works closely with cycle count coordinator to establish root cause and corrective action for any picking, shipping or receiving errors. Has direct responsibility for explaining inventory write-offs and providing corrective actions
    • Perform as back-up for the departmental manager when out of the office
    • Interface with vendors that support the warehouse including the packaging material supplier, material handling equipment supplier and barcode software (in conjunction with IT). Negotiates best cost solutions that improve operational productivity
  • Internal/External Audits and Organizational Support
    • Support internal and external audits of departmental processes and procedures.
    • Monitor departmental expenses under direction of the departmental Director Manger. The supervisor must pre-approve all departmental over time.
    • Team with the departmental Director Manager and the IT department responsible for investigating the cost effectiveness and selection of new technologies to reduce cost and improve productivity.
    • Position is directly responsible for investigating and recommending innovative, cost effective technologies to reduce expenses and improve productivity
    • Participate in the ISO9000 and ISO14000 quality processes.
    • Facilitate with internal groups for Trade Show/Customer Demo’s and Carnets shipping requirements
 
    • The salary or hourly wage range of $58,1500 – $105,300 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements. 
   What We’re Looking For:  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS           High School graduate (some college or APICS certification a plus)          5 years warehouse experience as a lead or supervisor          Experience with a computerized warehouse system (Oracle and barcode experience a plus)          Experience in Warehouse resource planning and business plan preparation          Experience in the airline industry also a plus.  
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS           Responsible for 12 to 15 15 to 20 employees at two multiple locations. The total warehouse expense budget is approximately $1.2M. Managing overtime is a major responsibility as is controlling the expense of departmental supplies. The supervisor will report directly to the departmental Director Manager who monitors daily operations and gives general directions and specific goals.          Must have excellent written (proficient at e-mail) and oral communication skills. Must consider the needs of internal customers and external customers and focus on the highest lever of customer service.          Communication style must foster teamwork with all departments at Panasonic. Written and verbal communication should be positive and tactful in the most stressful situations. Communication with subordinates must be supportive and respectful to foster and atmosphere of empowerment.          This position is responsible for solving process flow problems based on specific goals or incidents. The supervisor should be the first to recognize and take corrective action regarding employee performance issues. This person must have an excellent understanding of the company’s inventory control computer system and be able to work problems that arise due to incorrect transactions.          Excellent written and oral communication skills          Highly organized and a self starter who can run with general instructions and goals          Must be an analytical logical problem solver that can work problem across departmental lines.          Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.          Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.          Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.          Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.          Experience with a computerized warehouse system highly desirable (i.e. Oracle and barcode experience a plus).          Must be proficient in utilizing material handling equipment          Proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word  
OTHER REQUIREMENTS           Approximately 50 of the job will be walking the warehouse and interfacing with the warehouse staff.
