Under the direction of the Manager, ATS Scheduling Optimization, the Supervisor, Shift Scheduling is the focal point of shift scheduling delivery. The Supervisor, Shift Scheduling ensures accuracy and efficiency of work performed by Scheduling Specialists, and provides leadership in workflow management, problem resolution and training.Job Description

Key Accountabilities:
Supervise Scheduling Specialists by assigning duties, monitoring workflow, and ensuring that work is completed accurately and on time.
Provide expert advice and guidance to Scheduling Specialists regarding complex scheduling issues by conducting research, consulting with management, and conducting follow-ups.
Provide advice as the unit expert on Employee Scheduling System (ESS) and associated standards, processes and procedures.
Assess Scheduling Specialists technical proficiency by applying the quality training program and recommend training where appropriate.
Support, and maintain operational employee schedules on a daily and scheduled basis in a complex Scheduling environment.
Provide internal management support by planning, revising, and organizing Shift Schedules to ensure compliance with provisions of collective agreements and other governing directives and regulations.
Coordinating and conducting daily / monthly / yearly close functions in ESS.
Provide training to new users of the automated scheduling tool to both local and remote employees and managers.
Job Requirements
Education:
Experience:
5&43; years of experience in shift scheduling.
Experience using the Employee Scheduling Tool (ex: ESS).
Experience working with various collective agreements.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of automated scheduling tool (ESS).
Knowledge of various collective agreements.
Knowledge of Canada Labour Code guidelines and regulations.
Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures relating to shift scheduling.
Abilities:
Ability to provide training to new users of the Automated Scheduling Tool (ESS).
Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to prioritize work tasks and adaptable to quickly changing requirements
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to provide advice to management and represented employees.

Working Conditions:
This position will be responsible for supervising shift scheduling in the Edmonton and Vancouver Flight Information Regions and will be required to work hours consistent with this time zone.
Shift work may be required; daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
