Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Supply Base Management Specialist (Senior or Lead) (Level 4 or 5) to join our Propulsion Category Management and Integration team in Everett, Washington or North Charleston, South Carolina!

Supplier Management and Procurement consists of jobs associated with both the acquisition of goods and services in support of company operations and with the management and improvement of supply chain management and processes.

This role requires blending strategic thinking with on-the-ground execution, enabling the organizations to improve systems, business policies, processes and efficiencies to operate as One Boeing Supply Chain.  The Statement of Work includes standard Supply Chain Management functions, data analysis, forecasting, supply and/or demand troubleshooting, and additional duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities:   

  • Serves as communications link across the enterprise relative to Propulsion Hardware with specific focus on integration with Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T), Product Development and Engineering

  • Integrates across the Propulsion category to facilitate changes to the Propulsion category strategy

  • Identifies problems to solve and assess options

  • Monitors market intelligence, supplier capability, current supplier performance, engineering changes, and aftermarket issues (durability, pricing, support structures)

  • Understanding product studies and future technologies

  • Oversees contracting actions and ensures alignment to the long-term Propulsion category strategies

  • Provides business and strategic guidance for critical suppliers, commodities and programs

  • Leads and participates in the resolution of complex or strategic supply chain issues

  • Consults with management and customers to lead the development of future supply base requirements

  • Integrates supplier strategies with program needs and supply base capabilities

  • Monitors delivery and quality Issues affecting Propulsion

  • Ensures accurate and timely communication between program and supplier facing teams and provide visibility of supply chain performance to the program customer including ensuring visibility on critical shortages and supplier recovery plans

  • Acts as the link between Category Managers, Program, Supply Chain and Business units

  • Supplements core Supply Chain team on Risk/Issue Identification and Mitigation due to: shortages, financial risks, work movement, rate changes, NOEs or other quality issues

  • Participates in Production Readiness Assessments and recovery actions as required

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management

  • 3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Operations environment

  • 3+ years of experience in communicating to employees, customers, peers and multiple levels of leadership

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10 of the time domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing supplier performance

  • 3+ years of experience with improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, systematic problem solving)

  • 3+ years of experience with strategy development and execution

Typical Education/ Experience:

Senior (Level 4): Typically, 10 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Lead (Level 5): Typically, 15 or more years of related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range: Location: Everett, Washington: (Mid-Level – Level 4) - $121,950 - $141,900

Summary pay range: Location: Everett, Washington: (Mid-Level – Level 5) - $141,750 - $165,000

Summary pay range: Location: North Charleston, South Carolina: (Mid-Level – Level 4) - $114,375 - $133,100

Summary pay range: Location: North Charleston, South Carolina: (Mid-Level – Level 5) - $132,300 - $154,000
