Job Description:

The Supply Chain Manager, reporting to the Tennessee Operations Plant Manager, is an integral part of the leadership team accountable for accomplishment of business objectives consistent with Arconic values. The SCM Manager will have both strategic and tactical responsibilities for materials management & scheduling. The incumbent will take a leadership role in promoting and practicing Arconic Production System concepts and philosophies within his/her span of control and responsibility.

In this role, you will:

  • Set clear materials management and scheduling strategies by guiding group to develop and execute plans to prioritize backlog, current and future orders; and to optimize inventory, material flow and material sales within the framework of the agreed Supply Plan.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Mangers at multiple other plant locations to coordinate the procurement of materials and distribution of products, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to the production plan.
  • Develop and monitor tracking systems to evaluate supply chain plans and execution to supply chain plans to ensure agreed operating results are achieved.
  • Take a guiding role to ensure that group is developing and deploying systemic changes in the Supply Chain order fulfillment function based upon lean training principles that will lead to enhanced customer satisfaction while eliminating production and inventory waste.
  • Develop appropriate internal tests within existing and future target conditions to highlight delivery and inventory problems. Define the help chain that will drive to problem resolution and elimination.
  • Assess the capability of each staff member and provide timely and effective personal development opportunities. It is the incumbents responsibility to enhance the leadership and functional capabilities across the breadth of their organization for succession planning. The incumbent will be accountable for all personnel issues including, selection, termination, and performance appraisal with direction to ensure that key operating results are achieved.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify wasteful practices and information flows. Develop and implement target conditions that simplify information flows and align order fulfillment processes to facilitate problem solving. This requires extensive knowledge of metal and information flow paths to accomplish this objective.
  • Develop strategies to optimize management and flow of metal; prioritizing backlog, currents, and futures to achieve maximum customer service.
  • Represent the supply chain organization during customer visits, customer conference calls, and on-site visits to customer locations.
  • Manage negotiations, communications, relationships, and performance feedback for raw materials, scrap processing and systems suppliers.

Also note:

  • Implement the Business Unit’s Health & Safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure the location’s Health & Safety incidents are reported, investigated, and entered into the Arconic Incident Management System in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure the location’s Health & Safety Arconic Self-Assessment protocols are updated on an annual basis and action plans to address gaps to closure are completed.
  • Facilitate integration of error prevention and human performance tools as part of the overall incident prevention strategy.
  • Coordinate the activities of the location’s Fatality Prevention Team, Joint EHS Lead Team, Health & Safety Lead Team, and Human Performance Steering Team.
  • Provide leadership and direction on the integration of Human Performance principles and tools.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate filing of necessary records to demonstrate compliance with applicable federal, state, and Arconic programs.

You have: (required)

  • B.S. degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or another related program of study.
  • Must have at least 5-10 years’ experience in supply chain management or related roles.
  • Experience in Metals Manufacturing Operations and Planning
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)

  • Master’s degree in business administration or supply chain management or related degree.
  • Certification as a Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing/Training
  • Knowledgeable in Health & Safety regulatory compliance, incident prevention and investigation and industrial hygiene. Must have strong understanding of Human Performance principles with a track record of Human Performance integration across a site or large department.
